CITY OF COLTON <br />ASSISTANT WATER & WASTEWATER UTILITY DIRECTOR <br />PAGE 2 <br />Ability to: <br />Analyze problems, identify solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement <br />recommendations in support of departmental goals; understand, interpret and apply laws, rules <br />and regulations as they relate to a water and wastewater utility; prepare complex technical <br />reports involving all phases of electrical systems, fiber optic system, and geographic information <br />system (GIS) planning, construction and operations; interpret financial statements and cost <br />accounting reports; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; supervise, train and <br />evaluate professional, technical and clerical staff, work cooperatively in an environment that is <br />economically, socially and ethnically pluralistic; establish and maintain effective working <br />relationships with those contacted in the course of work. <br />UALIFICATIONS: <br />ExIâ–ºerience: Five years of progressively responsible administrative experience in water and <br />wastewater utilities management, including at least three years in a supervisory capacity. <br />Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in <br />engineering, business administration, public administration or closely related field. <br />License or certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid class "C" California driver's <br />license. <br />APPROVED BY COUNCIL: <br />c:\pershareJobs\AsstWWD.doc <br />
