provided on a case-by-case basis with the understanding by all parties that the needs and <br />objectives of the organization are of prime importance. <br />ARTICLE II -COMPENSATION <br />SECTION 1: SALARY <br />All employees shall receive a base salary as set forth in the Pay and Classification Plan for the <br />City of Colton. <br />The City will provide to all Unit employees a base salary increase of 5%, retroactive to <br />September 1, 2004. <br />SECTION 2: LONGEVITY PAY <br />Employees who have been employed by the City for five years or more, and have received <br />satisfactory performance evaluations for the previous two years, shall receive, after the <br />determination of range and step, an additional two percent of base salary. <br />SECTION 3: RETIREMENT <br />The City will pay the employee's contribution of 9% to the Public Employees' Retirement System <br />(PERS) and provide retirement benefits as currently specified under the City's contract with <br />PERS. All such contributions shall be deposited in the members' retirement account. Other <br />benefits provided include: <br />A. 3% at age 50 formula <br />B. One year final compensation <br />C. Military buyback <br />D. Post -Retirement Survivor Allowance <br />E. 1959 4th Level Survivor Benefits <br />The City will provide CalPERS 4th Level 1959 Survivor benefits to all Unit employees. The new <br />provision will be effective by the end of the first quarter of calendar year 2005; upon completion <br />of City and CalPERS processing requirements for the CalPERS Contract Amendment. <br />SECTION 4: FLSA EXEMPT EMPLOYEES <br />All classifications represented by the Association are exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act. <br />SECTION 5: POST CERTIFICATES <br />Effective September 1, 2004, each affected employee shall receive the following monthly <br />amounts, non -cumulative, if he/she possesses the requisite POST Certificates: <br />Intermediate <br />Advanced <br />Supervisor <br />Management <br />Police Lieutenant $413 <br />$496 <br />$571 <br />$755 <br />Police Captain $450 <br />$550 <br />$633 <br />$843 <br />CPMA Comp MOU Expires 063005 <br />10/21/2004 <br />Page 7 of 15 <br />
