City of Colton Public Services Department Engineering Division TEMPORARY ENCROACHMENT PERMIT #04 -004 -DD ROAD CLOSURE OF A PORTION OF FAIRWAY DRIVE DATE: January 9, 2004 APPLICANT: BRUTOCO ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION 14801 Slover Avenue Fontana, CA 92335 909-350-3535 909-350-9049 FAX Attn.: Nick Turner, Project Engineer Tim Ross, Project Superintendent LOCATION: FAIRWAY DRIVE From Colton, CA 92324 OWNER: Public Right -of -Way within Colton City Limits THE UNDERSIGNED hereby applies for a TEMPORARY ENCROACHMENT PERMIT to effect a temporary road closure of Fairway Drive, beginning on the east side of the T -intersection of Auto Plaza Drive & Fairway Drive and continuing to the easterly City Limits of Fairway Drive. The request for road closure was submitted by Brutoco Engineering & Construction, Inc. as the successful bidding contractor for the State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Contract No. 08- 371304, a seismic retrofit of Bridge Nos. 59-1064F, 54-4718, 54-471L, and 54-471F (Northbound and Southbound I-215) where they pass over Fairway Drive adjacent to the Colton City Limits. During this retrofit, Fairway Drive will need to be closed to through traffic for a period of approximately eight (8) months. On January 5, 2004, a Temporary Encroachment Permit, #04 -001 -DD, was issued to Brutoco Engineering & Construction, Inc., for the purpose of installing directional traffic signs for the Caltrans Contract No. 08- 371304 (Seismic Retrofit Bridge Project). All requirements for said permit were satisfied with the caveat that an additional Temporary Encroachment Permit would be required to present to Council for review and approval in order to close Fairway Drive to through traffic during the construction of the Caltrans Seismic Retrofit Project. The directional traffic signs are currently covered until the start of construction of Caltrans Contract No. 08-371304.
