R-108-05 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON APPROVING A GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT TO <br />AMEND THE LAND USE DESIGNATION FROM LOW DENSITY <br />RESIDENTIAL TO LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL/PLANNED <br />COMMUNITY FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 488 AND 502 <br />WEST JOHNSTON AVENUE (FILE INDEX NO. DAP -000-358) <br />WHEREAS, 26 Colton, LLC (the Applicant) filed applications (File No. DAP -000- <br />358) requesting a general plan amendment to re -designate property from Low Density <br />Residential to Low Density Residential/Planned Community ("Application") for property located at <br />488 and 502 West Johnston Avenue (Assessor Parcel Nos. 0160-111-07 and 08) ("Subject <br />Site"); and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton Planning Commission (the "Planning Commission") <br />held a public hearing on the Application on August 9, 2005, after giving published notice of the <br />Application; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has determined that the proposed <br />Application is consistent with the goals and policies of the City of Colton General Plan, is in the <br />best interests of the City's general welfare and the public health and safety, and it would be in <br />the public interest to recommend approval of the Application to the Colton City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the Application was referred to all affected public agencies pursuant <br />to section 65352 of the Government Code; <br />WHEREAS, the Application was reviewed, studied, and found to comply with the <br />California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") as more fully described below; <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission adopted a Resolution recommending <br />approval of this Application to the General Plan of the City of Colton; <br />WHEREAS, on September 6, 2005, the City Council of the City of Colton ("City <br />Council") conducted a duly noticed public hearing on the Application at which time all persons <br />ORANGE\MXM\19245.1 - 1 - <br />
