The City Council of the City of Colton hereby upholds the
Planning Commission's denial of the Application and denies the Appeal of the Application
(DAP 000-489) The City Council finds that the proposed use is not in accord with the Colton
General Plan, nor the objectives of City's Zoning Code, nor the purposes of the zone in
which the site is located. Further; the City Council finds hat the proposed amendment to
this CUP will be detrimental to the public health, safety or welfare, or materially injurious to
properties or improvements in the vicinity; Specifically, the City Council finds that evidence
provided during the public hearing shows that the metal storage structure is not
architecturally compatible with the surrounding structures and will have a negative aesthetic
impact on the community. Additionally, the proposed metal storage unit will reduce the
overall number of parking spaces needed to accommodate all users of the church facility
and may be used as hiding place for transients and potential criminal activities given that
the Site is not always occupied by its users.
SECTION 2. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 61h day of December, 2005.
CAROLINA P.
