1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />WHEREAS, a timely appeal of the denial of the Application was received by <br />the City Clerk ("Appeal"); and <br />WHEREAS, on October 17, 2006, the City Council of the City ("City Council") <br />conducted a duly noticed public hearing on the Appeal of the Application at which time all <br />persons wishing to testify in connection with the proposed Appeal and the Application were <br />heard, and the Appeal and Application were comprehensively reviewed and considered; and <br />WHEREAS, all other legal prerequisites to the adoption of this Resolution <br />have occurred. <br />BE IT NOW THEREFORE RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. Based on the entire record before the City Council, all written <br />and oral evidence presented, and the findings made in this Resolution, the City Council <br />hereby denies the Appeal of the Application and upholds the decision of the Planning <br />Commission denying the Application. <br />SECTION 2. Based on the entire record before the City Council and all <br />written and oral evidence presented, and the findings made in this Resolution, the City <br />Council hereby finds that the Application is inconsistent with the General Plan of the City of <br />Colton because: <br />A. The Application proposes signs that are excessive in size and height, does not <br />maintain and improve the aesthetics and appearance of the neighborhood, and is <br />inconsistent with the intent and guidelines of the following General Plan principles and <br />objectives: <br />1. General Objective No. 1 (pp. 2-12). creating... "a land use pattern <br />which provides a safe, harmonious and attractive residential living environment, a balanced <br />hierarchy of commercial land uses which will service the consumer and the economic needs <br />of the City and region..." <br />9 <br />
