R-59-06 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />' COLTON, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THAT THE LOCAL <br />q 1 AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION ("LAFCO") INITIATE <br />PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXATION OF THE <br />5 UNINCORPORATED "ISLAND" AREAS TO THE CITY OF COLTON <br />CITY LIMITS UNDER ANNEXATION NO. _ (VARIOUS PARCELS <br />61 THROUGHOUT THE CITY'S UNINCORPORATED SPHERE OF <br />7 INFLUENCE) <br />I <br />8 i WHEREAS, the City of Colton ("City") desires to initiate proceedings pursuant <br />9 to the Cortese -Knox -Hertzberg Local Government Reorganization Act of 2000, Division 3, <br />10 commencing with Section 56000 of the California Government Code, for the annexation of <br />I 1 the unincorporated islands of territory that are presently within the City's sphere of <br />12 influence; and <br />WHEREAS, the territory proposed to be annexed includes residential and <br />li I. <br />14 j commercial uses, light, medium, and heavy industrial uses, and vacant parcels within the <br />15 annexation areas; a description of the boundaries of the territory is set forth in Exhibit "A" <br />16 (Island Annexation Area Numbers 1 through 7) attached hereto and by this reference <br />17 incorporated herein, and <br />1 ;i WHEREAS, this proposal is consistent with the Sphere of Influence of the affected <br />19 City; and <br />20 WHEREAS, it is desired to provide that the proposed annexation be subject to the <br />21 ( following terms and conditions: <br />22 The following services and improvements will be financed by general tax <br />23 revenues of the City of Colton: police; fire protection; parks and park maintenance; street <br />i 4and street tree maintenance. The following services and improvements will be financed by <br />' <br />25 1 on-going service charges to users of said service: water, sewer, electric utility. The <br />76� following services and improvements will be financed and installed by the <br />27 �i owners/subdividers: sewer lines, streets and related improvements. <br />28 The City of Colton will provide the following urban services to the subject site <br />properties as they become available upon completion of the annexation process: water; <br />sewer; electric utility; police; fire protection; planning and building inspection services; <br />�I 1 <br />
