I parks and park maintenance, street and street tree maintenance; street cleaning; and 2 WHEREAS, the reasons for this proposed annexation are as follows: 3 To insure the orderly long range planning and development of the area and 4 provide for more effective municipal services to the subject sites. 5 BE IT NOW THEREFORE RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: 6 1. Request to Proceed with Annexation. The City Council of the City of 7 Colton hereby requests that the Local Agency Formation Commission of San Bernardino 8 County proceed with the annexation of islands of unincorporated territory as described in 9 Exhibit "A" (Island Annexation Area Numbers 1 through 7) according to the terms and 10 conditions stated in the above recitals and in the manner provided by the Cortese-Knox- 11 Hertzberg Local Government Reorganization Act of 2000. 12 2. California Environmental Quality Act. The City Council hereby finds 13 and determines that it can be seen with certainty there is no possibility that this action may 14 have a significant adverse effect on the environment. Thus, the action under this 15 Resolution is exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act 16 (Public Resources Code §§ 21000 et seg.) ("CEQA") pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3) of 17 the State CEQA Guidelines. Staff is directed to file a Notice of Exemption with the San 18 Bernardino County Clerk's Office as soon as possible upon the adoption of this Resolution. 19 3. Repeal of Prior Resolutions. This Resolution shall repeal any other 20 resolutions or portions thereof to the extent that such resolutions or portions thereof are in 21 conflict with this Resolution. 22 4.
