CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of April 5, 1988 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: JAIME R. AGUILERA, Director <br />Community Development Department Date: March 24, 1988 <br />SUBJECT: TRANSFER OF FUNDS <br />FOR EXISTING COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROJECTS <br />$54,689.00 from. contingency allocation to the following on-going CDBG projects: <br />1) $30,000.00 to Computerized Mapping System <br />2) $15,000.00 to Curb and Gutter Improvements <br />for South Fifth Street and Congress Street <br />3) $9,689.00 Capital Improvements for <br />South La Cadena Drive Corridor <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City of Colton, during the, 1987-88 year, accumulated excess funds <br />in the San Bernardino County Community Development Block Grant <br />(CDBG) contingency account. <br />The source of these funds is the 1987-88 required contingency allocation <br />that was ,not used this year, plus the unspent vector control program <br />funds that the city previously allocated to funding the San Bernardino <br />County Department of Environmental' Health Services Vector Control <br />Program. <br />Staff is requesting that these unused funds be allocated to increasing <br />the funding to the following three (3) on-going, approved CDBG projects. <br />1. $30,000.00 to Computerized Mapping System <br />The city is implementing a computerized mapping system for <br />improving and informational quality of city maps. <br />Currently $20,000.00 is budgeted and in order to digitize all the <br />parcels in the city and provide overlay information for various city <br />departments, additional funding is necessary.
