CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of March 7, 1989 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Gale Drews, Electric Utility Director <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF WEATHERIZATION CONTRACT WITH THE Date: February 27, 1981. <br />SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT <br />On December 20, 1988 the City Council approved the Energy Management <br />Program of the Electric Utility after 'review and approval by the <br />Utilities Commission. One of the activities included in the Energy <br />Management Program was the implementation of a Weatherization <br />Program for income eligible households. In the December 20, 1988, <br />report, it was anticipated that weatherization services would be <br />performed by the San Bernardino County Community Services Department <br />under contract to the City of Colton. The Community Services <br />Department is the administering agency for low-income weatherization <br />programs serving San Bernardino County. Contracting with this agency <br />will provide coordination between the County program and the City of <br />Colton program while utilizing the expertise and the organization of <br />the Community Services Department in administering income -eligible <br />weatherization services. <br />Attached is a proposed contract which has been reviewed by staff of <br />the City of Colton and the San Bernardino County Community Services <br />Department. The San Bernardino County Community Services Department <br />provides free weatherization services to county households with incomes <br />less than 150 percent of established poverty guidelines, 200 percent <br />for senior and disabled households. This contract will provide free <br />weatherization services to households served by the City of Colton <br />Electric Utility with incomes between 150 percent and 200 percent of <br />established poverty guidelines, between 200 percent and 250 percent <br />for senior and disabled households. The contract is for an amount not <br />to exceed $24,000.
