CASTRO, Executive Director <br />Community Services Department <br />SUBJECT: CONTRACT BETWEEN CITY OF COLTON AND COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT <br />FOR LOW-INCOME HOME WEATHERIZATION SERVICES (CSD) <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve contract between City of Colton and Community Services Department (CSD) in <br />the amount of $24,000 to provide no -cost home weatherization' services for <br />eligible low-income residents of the City of Colton. Contract shall commence on <br />March 1, 1989, and be in effect through June 30, 1989. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Since 1978, the Board of Supervisors has approved numerous low income energy <br />assistance programs for services to be provided by CSD under contract to State <br />agencies as well as local utility companies. <br />On December 20, 1988, the Colton City Council approved the development of Energy <br />Conservation Programs for City of Colton residents. The home weatherization <br />program was among those approved. <br />This contract with City of Colton will help to alleviate the weatherization needs <br />of eligible residents within the Colton Electric service territory, which <br />encompasses the City of Colton. <br />CSD will perform outreach/assessment and install all required conservation <br />measures and home repairs.
