._, <br />CITY OF 'COLTON <br />AGENDA REPOR i )(CONTINUED <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF—November 7, 1989 <br />SUBJECT: ALLOCATION OF FUNDS AND APPOINnENT OF <br />REPRESENTATIVE TO COUNTY AIR QUALITY PROJECT <br />The process involved in generating a regional air quality element will require <br />the services of a consultant, with contract administration to be provided by <br />County staff. It is anticipated that participation and review will be <br />accomplished by two committees One of these committees would be the technical <br />committee, composed of city and county staff. The other would be the advisory <br />committee, composed of city and county leaders. Representatives of SANBAG, <br />SCAQMD, SLAG, the public and industry could be included. <br />The County has requested that the cities in the County each formally adopt a <br />resolution: <br />1. Recognizing the County as lead agency for the project, in cooperation with <br />SANBAG and cities <br />2. Allocating funding for initial project costs; Colton's share would be <br />$2,280 - $4,560; <br />3. Appointing City Planning or Community Development Directors to a Technical <br />Committee, to be formed as a part of this effort; <br />4. Appointing a Council member to the Project Advisory Committee.` F <br />RECO MMENDATION <br />Staff is recommending that the City Councils <br />1. Approve an allocation of $4,560 from its Contingency account to fund initial <br />air quality project costs. <br />2. Appoint a Councilmember to serve on the Countywide Air Quality Advisory <br />Committee <br />k <br />3.
