CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT (CONTINUED) <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF December_ 18 • J3 -9D__ <br />SUBJECT: Hutton/Luque Community Centers Expansion Projects, Additional <br />Amenities In Lieu of Liquidated Damages, Shook Building Systems, Inc. <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM <br />Staff needs to be directed if it is Council's wishes that these <br />additional amenities be provided in lieu of liquidated damages. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />1. Reject the proposal and deduct the liquidated damages from the <br />contract. <br />2. Waive the liquidated damages portions of the contract. <br />3. Direct Staff to negotiate with the contractor for additional <br />amenities in lieu of liquidated damages. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />A. Accrued liquidated damages, deducted from contract <br />Sept. 24 - Oct. 24, 1990, 30 days @ $500.00/day ... $15,000.00 <br />Nov. 14 - Nov. 19, 1990, 4 days @ $167.00/day ..... $ 668.00 <br />SUB TOTAL $15,668.00 <br />B. Proposed amenities to be provided by contractor in lieu of <br />liquidated damages: <br />1. Provide security gate at Luque Branch Library. <br />2. Provide hydro -seed in all affected areas at project instead <br />of seed. <br />3. Provide two (2) thirty-six (36) inch trees per site. <br />4. Paint existing exterior mansard on Hutton Center to match new. <br />5. Plant approved ground cover at Hutton Center on 2:1 slope. <br />6.
