CITY OF COLTON <br />Assistant City Manager (continued) <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES <br />Monitor and analyze current legislation affecting City <br />operations and activities; interpret rules and regulations as <br />they relate to municipal government. <br />Prepare fiscal, statistical and narrative reports and <br />recommendations for City Manager and City Council. <br />Respond to citizen complaints and requests for information. <br />Perform related work as required. <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br />Knowledge of: <br />Basic principles applied in the development and management <br />of departments providing various municipal services. <br />Principles and practices of financial administration, <br />including cash management and investments organization <br />development, budget development and administration. <br />Ordinances, resolutions and laws affecting municipal <br />financial operations. <br />Methods and techniques of research, policy development, <br />statistics, survey analysis and report writing. <br />Organization and principles of municipal government. <br />Ability to: <br />Organize, direct and coordinate the activities of various <br />assigned city departments. <br />Develop long-term plans and programs, and make decisions on <br />matters of major policy and administrative problems. <br />Analyze and interpret fiscal records, determine cash flow <br />needs and make accurate revenue and expenditure forecasts. <br />Meet and deal effectively with municipal governing bodies, <br />civic groups and the public. <br />Prepare, present and administer City budget. <br />
