a <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT (CONTINUED) <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF <br />SUBJECT: <br />T)T(;(7 TgST()T- <br />Regarding the formation of the Design Institute, staff has been <br />participating with the County of San Bernardino and the other eight <br />cities to select a consultant firm to assist in the creation of the <br />Institute. Staff is continuing in the process by attending the <br />organizational meetings to participate in the formation of the <br />Institute. The Design Institute is currently in the planning stages to <br />form a non-profit corporation to conduct the business of the Institute. <br />The organizational structure provides for a Chairman of the Board of <br />Directors, a President, two Vice -Presidents, a Secretary, a Treasurer, <br />and up to twenty-five Directors. <br />Staff recommended to the County that a public official from Colton serve <br />in one of the two available Vice -President positions. The <br />recommendation was accepted by the County. The by-laws provide for a <br />minimum of one annual meeting of the voting members of the corporation <br />and that the officer attend that meeting.
