- CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT For Council Meeting of �&y 15, 1990 TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council FROM: John C. Hutton, Director of Public Works J SUBJECT: Approval of Change Order #3 to Contract' -for Krieger Date: May 10, 1990 and Stewart for Phase I of the Sewer Plant Expansion Project in the Amount of $80,000 As Council is aware the City's sewer treatment plant is currently under construction to supply an additional 1 million gallons of treatment capacity in order to meet the service demands of our development growth. At this time, the expansion project is 75% complete with final completion expected on July 15, 1990. This is approximately 3 months beyond the original expected completion date due to property acquisition, equipment delivery and inclement weather delays. With the addition of the 1 million gallons of added capacity (emergency measure) to meet the demands of those projects which were listed for construction in 1988, most all have now been completed and new projects that were not on the list are going to need service in the near future. Therefore, staff will be recommending, as part of the Water Quality Control budget in FY90-91 that we move immediately into the engineering design phase for the final phase of expansion of the treatment plant. As mentioned earlier, the current expansion was delayed for several reasons, with these delays and additional services rendered by Krieger and Stewart for property acquisition for the expansion, Krieger and Stewart is requesting a change order for additional professional services. These additional costs had apparently been discussed with Leslie Keane, previous City Manager, and Terry Lyons, previous Water Utilities Manager. After a review of the requested change order and the scope of additional services I am in concurrence with the proposed change order. -- —iu„i�►�� • Staff recommends that Council approve Change Order #3 for professional services by Krieger and Stewart in the amount of $80,000.
