CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of May 15, 1990 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Edmund Sotelo , City Manager 'Aie <br />SUBJECT: ADOPTION OF NEW JOB DESCRIPTION AND TITLE Date: 5/9/90 <br />FOR PRINCIPAL LIBRARIAN <br />Many organizational changes and a great deal of growth have taken <br />place in the library over the last three years. The result is that <br />current job descriptions for Adult Services Librarian and Children's <br />Services Librarian do not reflect current duties. A new job descrip- <br />tion has been developed to more closely detail the duties performed. <br />The title "Principal Librarian" is more adequately descriptive and <br />universally accepted within the library profession and will greatly <br />enhance our ability to recruit qualified individuals. No salary <br />change is recommended. <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends the position titles and job descriptions for Adult <br />Services Librarian and Children's Services Librarian be changed.
