SOTELO, CITY MANAGJiW- <br />SURJECT: ADOPT NEW JOB DESCRIPTION FOR FIRE CHIEF <br />Date: 11-13-90 <br />BACKGROUND: The current job description for the position of <br />Fire Chief was written in 1971. A new job description is needed <br />to update the education, training and experience requirements, and <br />to proceed with the recruitment for a new Fire Chief. <br />L. E. Temby, Fire Technician Coordinator and Retired Fire Chief <br />from the City of Colton, assisted in the development of the <br />attached job description. <br />STATEMENT _Q_F THE PROBLEM: Fire Chief Ronald Gemmell is retiring <br />at the end of December, 1990, and before recruitment for a new <br />Fire Chief can begin, a new job description is required.
