BUSINESS LICENSE AND <br />COLLECTIONS OFFICER <br />(continued) <br />Perform a variety of administrative support duties for the <br />Department Director. <br />Perform related duties as assigned. <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br />KNOWLEDGE OF• <br />State Collection Law and City collections policies and <br />procedures. City departmental policies and procedures as they <br />relate to Business Licenses. Modern Office Practices and <br />Procedures. Principles of financial record keeping. <br />ABILITY TO• <br />Lean applicable business license and related municipal codes and <br />ordinances. Maintain financial and statistical records. <br />Interpret and enforce municipal codes and ordinances. Respond to <br />inquiries, complaints and requests in a fair tactful and firm <br />manner. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in <br />writing. Maintain effective working relationships with those <br />contacted in the course of work. <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />Any combination of experience and training that would likely <br />provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A <br />typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: <br />Experience <br />Four years of increasingly responsible experience in the <br />maintenance of financial and statistical records. <br />TRAINING <br />Equivalent to the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized <br />training in accounting, public or business Administration or a <br />related field. <br />LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE <br />Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid <br />California drivers' license. <br />
