EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (continued) <br />Coordinate, monitor, and evaluate project activities in the <br />redevelopment area; inform City staff of project progress and changes. <br />Assign duties to subordinate staff, prepare periodic performance <br />evaluations, and recommend corrective action where necessary. <br />Perform the duties of the department Director as required. <br />Perform related duties as required. <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br />Any combination of education and/or experience that has provided the <br />knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for satisfactory job <br />performance. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and <br />abilities would be: <br />Education: <br />Bachelor's degree in public/business administration, urban planning, <br />finance, political science, real estate, or other related field. A <br />Masters degree in public/business administration, or other related <br />field may be substituted for one year of the required experience. <br />Experience: <br />Four years of increasingly responsible experience in economic and/or <br />redevelopment project management. <br />Knowledge Skills and Abilities <br />Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices utilized in <br />municipal government operations, including the principles and practices <br />of organization, administration, municipal finance, real estate, and <br />planning; legal, financial, and public relations issues common to local <br />government; California Redevelopment law; procedures and policies <br />concerning redevelopment programs, and techniques for promoting <br />economic development; modern methods and techniques for planning, <br />administering, and appraising community development and redevelopment <br />programs. Ability to plan organize, and coordinate City-wide <br />activities; effectively facilitate the development and execution of <br />plans for City-wide improvements; perform difficult analysis, and <br />prepare and present reports; read and interpret laws; develop plans to <br />meet future needs; deal constructively with conflict and develop <br />effective resolutions; communicate effectively both verbally and in <br />writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with <br />representatives from federal, state, and local agencies. <br />License or Certificate: <br />Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California <br />driver's license. <br />APPROVED BY COUNCIL: 2/18/92 <br />JD2:ERC <br />
