CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT (CONTINUED) FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF January 21 , 1992 SUBJECT: Approval of Traffic Committee and JF Davidson Recommendations for Mt. Vernon/Colton Corridor Traffic Study 2. "D" Street Paint "Ped Xing" intersection of crosswalks. and Mt. Vernon Avenue -- JF Davidson recommendations: north and southbound on Mt. Vernon before the "D" Street. Paint "Zebra Cross Hatching" for Traffic Committee recommendations: Crosswalks to be painted with 24" bars instead of "Zebra Cross Hatching". Delete the 25 NPH sign recommended by JF Davidson. Paint red curb from Shasta Drive 60' south on Mt. Vernon Avenue. Request Omnitrans to relocate its bus stop 100' south of the crosswalk for better vision of pedestrians. 3. "E" Street and Mt. Vernon Avenue -- JF Davidson Paint stop ahead Cross Hatching" sign westbound on "E" Street. for pedestrian crosswalk. recommendations: Paint "Zebra Traffic Committee recommendations: Paint 24" bars for crosswalk and move crosswalk closer to intersection. The property owner was also requested to move his fence on a diagonal with the intersection to allow for better vision of oncoming traffic. 5. Coburn Street, Harber Drive and Colton Avenue -- JF Davidson recom endations: Install "stop ahead" sign on Coburn Street and Harber Driver. Paint "stop" and limit line on Coburn Street and Harber Drive. Remove existing trees. Traffic Committee recommendations: Install rumble buttons on Colton Avenue, southbound, 50' before the City limit sign to alert drivers to the 35 NPH speed limit. Send request to property owners via Human Services to trim back trees and vegetation. 6. "F" Street and Colton Avenue -- JF Davidson recommendations: Paint "Ped Xing" on Colton Avenue. Replace Pedestrian crossing sign with "Pedestrian Crossing Without Cross Striping". Paint "Zebra Cross Hatching". Traffic Corrmittee recommendations: Paint 24" bar instead of "Zebra Cross Hatching" at crosswalks.
