CITY OF COLTON
INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM
0(0.
V `Mp00.POq,,lEO
« .1887.
9t1FOIL
TO: John Hutton, Public Works Director DATE: December 13, 1991
FILE NUMBER:
FROM: Bob Wirts, City Traffic Engineer #w
SUBJECT: TRAFFIC STUDY
The traffic study by J. F. Davidson Associates, Inc. concerning the following
intersections has been reviewed:
° 9th Street and "D" Street
Colton Avenue and "E" Street
° Colton Avenue and "F" Street
° Colton Avenue and Colburn Street -Harbor Drive
(an offset intersection)
° Mt. Vernon Avenue and "D" Street
It is recommended that the study be approved with the exception of using double
width (24") crosswalk stripes instead of vertical stripes to emphasize the
pedestrian crossings. This provides for a larger indication of the crossing areas
which assists the motorist and also reduces maintenance.
Regarding the status of the traffic signal being designed for Colton Avenue and
Fairview Avenue, it is my understanding that the field survey has been completed
and the design plans are underway with an expected completion date of January
15, 1992.
BW/cm
