CITY OF COLTON <br />Personnel Analyst I <br />Personnel Analyst II <br />Page 3 <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br />Personnel Analyst I <br />Knowledge of• <br />Basic principles and practices of personnel administration including <br />recruitment, classification and compensation, and benefits <br />administration. <br />Federal and state laws, rules and regulations regarding personnel <br />administration including recruitment and selection, employee relations, <br />Affirmative Action/Equal Employment laws and practices. <br />Principles of data collection, research techniques and methods. <br />Current literature and information sources in the field of personnel <br />administration. <br />Report writing techniques. <br />Ability to• <br />Plan and administer recruitment programs. <br />Perform classification and compensation analysis. <br />Perform analysis, formulate recommendations and prepare detailed <br />reports. <br />Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. <br />Establish and maintain effective work relationships with City staff and <br />the general public. <br />Experience and Education <br />Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide <br />the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to <br />obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: <br />Experience• <br />One year of experience in public personnel/human resources programs. <br />Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis. <br />Education• <br />Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or <br />university with major course work in public, personnel, or business <br />administration or a closely related field. <br />
