►' 1331 CITY OF COLTON
XR 1520
INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members
FROM: Jaime R. Aguilera
Community Development Director
DATE: March 3, 1992
SUBJECT: Fireworks Ordinance
1—Z
A previous City Manager was asked by the City Council to
rewrite the "Fireworks Ordinance" to make it more responsive
to the needs of the Community. The revisions to the
Ordinance were never done and when Mr. J. C. Washington
began preparing for this year's Fourth of July, he informed
me of the Council's directive. I subsequently directed Mr.
Washington to draft a revised Ordinance for the Council's
review.
We believe the attached Ordinance responds to all of the
concerns voiced by the Council eight months ago; however,
because we were not the party that was directly involved, it
is possible that there are other issues we have not
addressed. Therefore, the Ordinance is being sent to you
for review prior to agendizing it. Your comments to staff
prior to the 11th of March would allow us to make the
appropriate changes before the agenda deadline for the
Council meeting of March 17, 1992.
It is imperative that we meet the March 17th deadline, in
order to give the non-profit organizations enough time to
file prior to July 4th.
tg
attachments
cc: Mark Lewis, City Manager
Best, Best & Krieger
