CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT (continued) <br />For council meeting of May 5, 1992 <br />SUBJECT: ADOPT THE MOU FOR EMPLOYEES WORKING IN JOB CLASSIFICATIONS <br />REPRESENTED BY IAFF LOCAL 935, FIRE UNIT OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />8. MEDICAL INSURANCE <br />A. The City shall continue to contribute the equivalent to the cost of <br />"Family" coverage under the Health Net Plan, Group Number 50766A for <br />city provided health insurance coverage. <br />B. PERS health insurance plans shall replace the current health <br />insurance options effective with the plan year starting during 1993. <br />9. PARAMEDIC RECERTIFICATION <br />A. The bonus shall be $750 per year upon completion of recertification <br />instead of the current $1500 per recertification (currently <br />recertification occurs once every 2 years). B. The City shall continue <br />to pay the cost of all coursework and fees, a codification of past <br />practice. <br />C. A paramedic who receives the bonus during probation and does not <br />successfully complete probation shall repay the City for that bonus. <br />10. CONSTANT MANNING - a comprehensive policy <br />duty sworn personnel from this bargaining <br />The 17 positions include: <br />4 - Fire Captains <br />4 - Fire Engineers <br />6 - Firefighter/Paramedics <br />3 - Firefighters <br />and procedure mandating 17 on - <br />unit is included as Exhibit C. <br />11. SICK LEAVE BUYBACK - the provision reducing by 1/2 sick leave buyback <br />benefits for all employees hired on or after January 1, 1987, was <br />removed. <br />12. LAYOFF POLICY - in case of layoff, the employee with the least seniority <br />shall be laid off first, regardless of rank. <br />13. RECIPROCITY AGREEMENT <br />A. If any other City bargaining units or department heads receive an <br />increase in salary and benefits which take effect during 1992, employees <br />in this unit shall be granted a comparable increase. <br />B. Effective in 1993, if any other City bargaining unit gets increases <br />to existing health and welfare or retirement benefits, this unit shall <br />be granted a comparable increase.
