Drews, Electric Utility Directorb�_ <br />SUBJECT: LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH THE ATCHISON, TOPEKA Date: 4/21/92 <br />AND SANTA FE RAILWAY COMPANY FOR A POWER <br />LINE CROSSING RAILWAY PROPERTY <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Department has been upgrading the existing 4.16KV circuits to 12.47KV to make <br />the system more economical and reliable. A plan has been developed for a new <br />12.47KV circuit from the Hub Substation to absorb some of the load from the <br />existing 4.16KV downtown and Channel circuits. The route of this circuit will <br />be north of Valley Blvd. going north on 9th Street, west on W Street, and then <br />north on 7th Street. <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: <br />The Department intends to build the line on Olive Street between the existing <br />12.47KV Laurel Circuit to a new circuit to provide reliability between two <br />circuits. This back-up feed can be completed by constructing a line on Olive <br />Street from 6th to 7th Street. The Department must have a license to cross the <br />railway tracks on Olive Street to complete the back-up feed to these circuits. <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br />None <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />License Agreement fee of $150.00 <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends Council approve authorization for the City Manager to execute <br />the agreement as written. <br />is o0i <br />The agreement, nle i e Ci Clerk's office for your review. <br />Concurrence: <br />Attachments: Mark Lewis, City Manager <br />Page I of 1 Item No. <br />
