CITY OF COLTON SPECIFICATIONS FOR ONE (1) NEW COMPOSTER/AERATOR UNIT WITH OPERATING ACCESSORIES GENERAL: It is the intent of this specification to describe a new composter/aerator unit complete with all the necessary operating accessories, customarily furnished with machines of this type whether stipulated herein or not. The unit will be used with a Case 580D tractor/backhoe. The equipment shall be essentially the standard product of the manufacturer and of manufacturer's current model and none of the accessories are to be removed for the reason that it is not mentioned in these specifications. Each vendor must submit complete factory specifications on each piece of equipment he proposes to furnish with this bid. These specifications describe the minimum requirements for the unit. The unit shall be furnished complete and ready for use and shall have been shop and field tested prior to delivery. All parts of the equipment furnished shall be amply designed and constructed for the maximum stresses occurring during continuous operation. All materials shall be new and both workmanship and materials shall be of the very best quality and entirely suitable for the service to which the equipment will be subjected. No prototype equipment shall be allowed. The bidder must be the manufacturer or authorized distributor capable of providing warranty, parts and service on the subject equipment as outlined in these specifications. The materials to be turned and transferred by the composter unit shall have the following unit weights: Sludge Compost PRICE: 65 lb./cu. ft. 37 lb./cu. ft. F.O.B. Colton, delivered. Price to include all discounts and state tax. No federal excise tax is to be charged. If necessary, the City of Colton will furnish exemption certificates for federal excise tax. DELIVERY: Bidder must state the best estimate of delivery on the Bidders Proposal and Statement.
