Ramos, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT:Review of Conflict of Interest Code, Designated Employees <br />and Boards & Commissions <br />Government Code Section 87306.5 requires that the City Council <br />initiate review of its Conflict of Interest Code by July 1, of <br />every even numbered year. <br />Each department shall determine that its section of the code <br />does or does not require amendment. If an amendment is needed, <br />the department will submit the proposed amendment to the City <br />Clerk's Office for submission to the City Council. The types <br />of changes which could occur within a department which would <br />warrant an amendment include: <br />1. The creation of positions which involve the making or <br />participation in the making of decisions which may foreseeably <br />have a material effect on any financial interest. <br />2. The reclassification, renaming or deletion of previously <br />designated positions; <br />3. The addition, deletion or modification of definitional <br />or operational provisions of the department code; or <br />4. The addition, deletion or modification of the specific <br />types of investments, business positions, interests in real <br />property, and sources of income which are reportable. <br />Attached for your use is a form to be completed, signed and <br />returned to the City Clerk's Office no later than August 24, 1992. <br />Also attached, is the Code and Exhibit for your department.
