City of Colton <br />Information Systems Manager (continued) <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br />KNOWLEDGE OF• <br />Computer concepts and terminology applied in the data <br />processing field. <br />Use, capacity, characteristics and limitations of computer <br />hardware and software. <br />Methods and techniques of evaluating computer hardware and <br />software including cost/benefit analysis and systems <br />simulation. <br />ABILITY TO• <br />Install computer hardware and software. <br />Analyze and plan for future software/hardware requirements. <br />Identify and correct complex system malfunctions. <br />Develop and implement test procedures applicable to the <br />evaluation of systems software. <br />Discuss problems and complaints with users tactfully, <br />courteously and effectively. <br />Prioritize and organize work assignments. <br />Express ideas and convey information effectively orally and in <br />writing. <br />Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with <br />those contacted in the course of work. <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />Any combination of experience and training that would likely <br />provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A <br />typical way of obtaining the knowledge and abilities would be: <br />EXPERIENCE• <br />Three years experience in one or more specific application <br />areas or two years as technical support in a similar <br />environment. Experience with HP300/MPEXL, Powerhouse, Novell <br />Netware 3.11 and/or MS-DOS applications preferred. <br />
