Chapter 18.50 of the Colton Municipal Code shall be <br />amended by the addition of Section 18.50.130 and 18.50.131 to <br />read as follows: <br />1118.50.130 Temporary Promotional Signs <br />Temporary promotional signs may be posted for a period not to <br />exceed 60 days within any calendar year subject to the <br />following provisions and any other applicable provisions <br />within this Chapter: <br />1. A `temporary promotional sign' is defined as any sign <br />related to a date -specific event, including without <br />limitation, public elections and community events. <br />2. All temporary promotional signs shall be placed no <br />earlier than 60 days prior to the event promoted by or <br />related to the temporary promotional sign and shall be <br />removed not later than 10 days following the date of the <br />event, except that temporary promotional signs that <br />carry-over promotional data from a primary election to a <br />general election need not be removed during the interim <br />between the related elections. <br />3. A temporary promotional sign shall not exceed 32 square <br />feet in total area. <br />4. No temporary promotional sign shall exceed an overall <br />height of 12 feet from the finished grade. <br />5. No temporary promotional sign shall be placed in a manner <br />that obstructs visibility of pedestrian or vehicular <br />traffic or that poses a public safety or health hazard. <br />6. Temporary promotional signs used for identification of <br />organization headquarter shall comply with the provisions <br />of this section. <br />7. Nothing contained in this section shall limit space <br />rental on existing outdoor advertising signs which are <br />otherwise regulated by provisions of this Chapter. <br />
