8. No temporary promotional sign shall be placed or fixed to 1 any publicly owned tree, fence, or utility pole within the public right of way or otherwise posted on any public 2 property. 9. No more than three temporary promotional signs may be 3 posted on private property in residentially zoned areas of the city relating to the same date-specific event. 4 The total square footage of all temporary promotional signs posted in a single private property located in a 5 residentially zoned area of the City relating to the same 6 date-specific event shall not exceed 96 square feet. 10. There shall be a front yard setback of ten feet on 7 residential lots. 8 18.50.131 Enforcement of Temporary Promotional Sign Reaulations 9 Enforcement of the provisions of section 18.50.130 shall be effected as provided in this section as follows: 10 1. The Community Development Director or his designee may 11 summarily and without prior notice remove any temporary promotional sign which constitutes an immediate peril to 12 persons or property. 13 2. If the Community Development Director finds that any temporary promotional sign has been posted or is being 14 maintained in violation of the provisions of this section, the Community Development Director shall issue 15 to the sign owner or the owner's authorized agent an oral or written demand for the removal or of such sign or for 16 correction of the violation within five days. 17 3. Such notice shall include a brief statement of the reasons for requiring removal. 18 4. The Community Development Director or his designee shall 19 use due diligence to provide such notice by telephone or in person, and in addition, may provide such notice in 20 writing by hand delivery or by placing such notice in the United States Mail addressed to the last known address of 21 the owner of any sign posted in violation of this section. 22 5. Upon the failure of any owner of any temporary 23 promotional sign posted in violation of this section to correct the violation or to remove such temporary 24 promotional sign after notice by the Community Development Director or his designee the Community 25. Development Director or his designee shall have the authority to remove all such illegally posted temporary 26 promotional signs, and to dispose of such temporary promotional signs if they are not claimed by the owner 27 within 10 working days. 28 2 -
