CITY OF COLTON <br />TRUCK DRIVER -OPERATOR <br />DEFINITION: <br />Under supervision, operates a truck as a major assignment; assists with the loading and <br />unloading of the truck by performing appropriate manual tasks. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: <br />Drive trucks engaged in hauling refuse, materials, supplies, water, and equipment. <br />Load and unload truck or direct the loading. <br />Haul dirt, sand, gravel and other street construction material. Haul tree branches, brush, and <br />other trash. <br />Pick up and deliver supplies and personnel as directed. <br />Pull trailer to transport heavy road equipment. <br />Clean, wash and make minor mechanical adjustments to truck. <br />Keep truck supplied with gas, oil, air, water. <br />Occasionally perform semi -skilled or unskilled labor. <br />Occasionally operate other equipment. <br />Perform other related work as required. <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br />Knowledge of: <br />The efficient operation and care of trucks. <br />Safe driving techniques and practices. <br />Proper maintenance of trucks and related tools and equipment. <br />1 <br />
