Lavin <br />City of Colton <br />1 March 1994 <br />Page 2 <br />WASTEWA TER SYSTEM MASTER PLAN <br />Task 1 Planning Data Collection and Review <br />Kennedy/Jenks Consultants <br />Subtask 1.A. - Establish Project Goals <br />Meet with the City to establish. project goals, needs, and desires of the proposed study, <br />establish departmental contacts and discuss data availability. <br />Subtask 1.B. Review of Available Planning and Engineering Documents <br />We will review previous reports by the City and/or consultants to the- City, relating to <br />population, land use and the previous 1978 Wastewater Master Plan. Review shall include <br />the general plan, records/plans, specific development plans, and current mapping of land <br />use and wastewater systems availablefromthe City, Engineering and Planning <br />Departments. <br />Subtask 1.C. Review ZoningClassifications and Wastewater Flow Criteria <br />We will review the City's existing zoning, land use and flow data to assess sewage <br />flow/load criteria for appropriate types of user classes. Land use, occupancy densities and <br />population will be reviewed for consistency with metered discharges to the wastewater <br />treatment plant. The existing land use data and flow rates identified in existing reports will <br />also be checked to approximate peaking factors, infiltration and inflow, and peak wet <br />weather and peak dry weather flows. The following typical land use types are similar to <br />those used by the City for its current and future land use plans: <br />• Residential - Low, Medium, and High Density <br />• Commercial <br />• Industrial <br />• Public Facilities - Par s., Schools, Government, Cemeteries and Churches <br />Subtask 1.D. - Assess Non -City Generated Wastewater Flows <br />Additional coordination may be required to determine the present and future loading of <br />surrounding municipalities discharging into key interceptors running through the City. Data <br />will be provided by the City from those municipalities or districts contributing flow to the <br />City's system. We understand that this will include the City of Grand Terrace. <br />
