CITY OF COLTON POLICE DEPARTMENT
650 NORTH LA CADENA
COLTON, CALIFORNIA 92324
B 3 June 27, 1994 ` T``
During the past years commercial vehicles have routinely used 7th and 8th Street, south of "0"
Street, to get to and from Fogg Street and La Cadena Drive. This route runs right next to Wilson
Elementary School.
Two weeks ago, responding to concerns from the school and area residents, the City Engineering
posted signs prohibiting commercial vehicles over three tons on 7th and 8th Streets. The
recommended route for commercial vehicles that cannot use Fogg Street from LaCadena,
because of size limitations, is to use "M" Street eastbound to Fogg Street, and then south,
following Congress to 8th Street, and then to area businesses. A map has been attached showing
the area streets.
We are asking that your please advise your drivers and your suppliers to avoid 7th and 8t1i
Streets next to the school. Violation of the three ton maximum may result in a citation being
used.
Your cooperation and concern for our residents and school children is greatly appreciated,
Yours truly,
BERNIE LUNSFORD
Captain
Bruce Rauch, Sergeant
Crime Prevention.
