AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF OCTOBER 18, 1994 <br />DATE: October 6, 1994 <br />TO: Hobble Mayor City Council <br />• �- •• -Director- <br />SUBJECT: <br />- • <br />-y X994 <br />SUBJECT: Set for Public Hearing, for the Regular City Council Meeting of <br />November 1, 19941 the re -programming of Community <br />Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the Fiscal Year <br />1993-94 project, "Street Improvements - Olive, Bordwell, La <br />Cadena and Mt. Vernon, $60,338" to the activity, "Street <br />Improvements - "M", Congress and Sixth." <br />BACKGROUND: <br />As a Cooperating City with the San Bernardino County (CDBG) Urban County <br />Program, any substantial re -programming of CDBG funds from project to project <br />requires approval from the County ECD Department and subsequently from the <br />U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). <br />The re -programming action requires the City to hold a Public Hearing to obtain <br />the views of citizens, particularly residents of the area in which the proposed <br />activity is to be carried out. The Public Hearing complies with the Citizen <br />Participation requirements of the CDBG Program. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Project entitled, "Street <br />Improvements - Olive, Bordwell, La Cadena and Mt. Vernon" was funded from <br />CDBG Program Years 1992-93, $101,450 and 1993-94, $111,575, for a total <br />project allocation of $213,025. The project has been completed and there is a <br />remaining balance of $60,338. <br />The Public Works Department has requested that the balance of funds be re- <br />programmed to the CDBG Project, "Street Improvements - "M," Congress and <br />Sixth." This project is located in South Colton and will greatly benefit the <br />residents of that community. )(0 <br />1 <br />
