9 :0 <br />There is enclosed herewith, a certified check, cashier's check, money order or surety bond in the sum <br />of ten percent (101/'0) of the base bid, )Z>%- a dollars (written <br />figures) $ CR1 , made payable to the City of Colton, and the undersigned agrees that in <br />case of his failure to execute the necessary contract and furnish the required contract bonds and <br />insurance, the check or surety bond and the money payable thereon shall be, and remain the property <br />of the City of Colton. If bid is accompanied by certified or cashier's check, the check must be <br />deposited by the City Purchasing Agent or their authorized person, and a City warrant will be <br />subsequently issued to the bidder approximately one (1) month after the contract has been awarded. <br />ERRORS IN BID: <br />The undersigned has carefully checked all works and figures inserted in this bid and that the <br />undersigned will not be released on account of the errors of the undersigned in the preparation of this <br />bid. <br />GENERAL INFORMATION: <br />A. Withdrawal of the bid - the bidder agrees that this bid shall be good and may not be <br />withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) calendar days after the date of the bid opening. <br />B. Certification of Workman's Compensation Insurance - the contractor to whom the <br />contract is awarded shall sign and file with the awarding body the following <br />certifications prior to performing the work of the contract. <br />"I am aware of the provisions of Section 3700 of the Labor Code which requires every <br />employer to be insured against liability for Workman's Compensation or to undertake <br />self-insurance in accordance with the provisions of the Code, and I will comply with <br />such provisions before commencing the performance of the work of the contract." <br />C. Time of Completion and Liquidated Damages - pursuant to the provision of Government <br />Code Section 53069.85 in case all work called for under this contract shall forfeit and <br />pay to the City the sum of five hundred dollars ($500) per day for each calendar day <br />the work remains incomplete, to be deducted from any payments due or to become <br />due to the contract. <br />D. State Licenses - pursuant to the State Contract Codes, the classification of contractor's <br />license required for this project is an "A" License (General Engineering Contractor) or an <br />appropriate specialty "C" license which can do all the work. The undersigned hereby <br />certifies that he is currently the hold of a valid Contractor's License in the State of <br />California and that his license covers the type of work for which this proposal was <br />made. <br />E. Insurance - the undersigned agrees to furnish certified copies of all policies and <br />endorsements, and certificates of comprehensive general and auto liability insurance, <br />Worker's Compensation, and such other insurance as will protect him from claims for <br />damages and from personal injury, including death, which may arise from operation <br />under the contract, whether such operation be by himself or by any subcontractor, or <br />anyone directly or indirectly employed by him or either of them. The certified copies, <br />and certificates and additional endorsements, together with "Insurance Recap form <br />(sample included under 'Contract Requirements' in these specifications)", will be filed <br />at the time of execution of the contract.
