CITY OF COLTON <br />TRAFFIC COMMIT' <br />REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />October 5, 1994 <br />The meeting was called to order at 3:12 p.m. <br />STAFF PRESENT <br />Randy Rivera, Public Works Department <br />Joanne Knowles, Risk Management <br />Cecil Nottingham, Police Department <br />Alan Sork, Fire Department <br />Brian Baden, Public Works Department <br />Bob Wirts, Public Works Department <br />Robert D. Dalquest, Community Development Department <br />Paula Glaubig, Commission Secretary <br />Betty Cook, Councilperson <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Stop Sign at 7th and "M" Street <br />Mr. Baden stated this item was approved by the City Council at their last <br />meeting. <br />Stop Sign at Cooley Drive and Ashwood/Duron <br />Mr. Baden stated this item was approved by the City Council at their last <br />meeting. Councilperson Cook stated three parents presented a petition to the <br />City Council against the signal, while only one parent wanted the stop sign. <br />Councilperson Cook stated the parents actually wanted yellow flashing lights <br />the crosswalk similar to those at the auction. Mr. Baden stated the light by <br />the auction is sometimes turned off; which is illegal. Mr. Nottingham stated <br />the signal is not working unless the auction is open. Mr. Baden stated that <br />a safety hazard. Mr. Baden stated the signal by the auction needs to be <br />discussed further at another meeting. Mr. Baden requested police presence <br />during peak hours after the Cooley Drive and Ashwood/Duron stop sign is <br />installed on Tuesday. Mr. Nottingham agreed. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />by <br />is <br />Request "No Parking" on Smokewood Street <br />Mr. Baden stated this item is request by Councilperson Bennett. Mr. Baden added <br />the request states there is a problem where the street narrows. Mr. Baden <br />stated he did a field review and did not see a narrowing of the street; he <br />requested this item go back to Councilperson Bennett for further information. <br />Mr. Baden made a motion to continue this item. Mr. Sork seconded the motion. <br />The motion was carried. <br />
