REDEVELOPMENT ACCOUNTANT <br />DEFINITION <br />City of Colton <br />To perform a variety of complex professional accounting duties in municipal finance specifically <br />redevelopment financial activities; to participate in budgeting and technical accounting work; to <br />assist in preparation of redevelopment agency financial reports. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br />Receives direction from the Finance Director in coordination with the Economic Development <br />Director/Redevelopment Agency Director. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: <br />Assist in the development, of general ledger trial balances and maintenance of budgetary and <br />accounting controls. <br />Posts and maintains records for various accounts and funds. <br />Audits invoices, purchase orders, payable records, and statements covering the Redevelopment <br />Agency's financial status. <br />Reconciles subsidiary and control accounts, review posting to ensure correct accounting <br />allocations. <br />Examines and verifies financial documents, classifies and codes accounting source data, and <br />makes adjusting and closing entries. <br />Participates in the preparation of financial statements, prepares a variety of financial reports and <br />statements to illustrate financial disbursements and balances. <br />Assists in the preparation of budget estimates and in the preparation of the Redevelopment <br />Agency budget. <br />Provides reports and information regarding the status of financial accounts and funds, and cash <br />flow analysis. <br />May assist in the development and implementation of Redevelopment department goals and <br />objectives. <br />Monitors pass-through and other agency agreements, coordinates overall sales tax activity in the <br />City. <br />1 <br />
