REDEVELOPMENT ACCOUNTANT <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br />Knowledge of: <br />Advance methods and practices of redevelopment, and general government accounting, auditing <br />and finance. <br />Procedures and techniques of budget preparation and administration. <br />Basic laws regulating public and redevelopment finance, fiscal operation and governmental <br />financial reporting. <br />Modern office methods, practices, procedures and equipment. <br />Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned. <br />Ability to: <br />Analyze and interpret financial and accounting records. <br />Prepare financial statements and reports. <br />Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. <br />Understand and apply pertinent laws, rules and regulations. <br />Work independently in the absence of supervision. <br />Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of <br />work. <br />Experience and Training: <br />Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge <br />and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: <br />Experience: Four years of increasingly responsible experience in accounting or auditing <br />work, preferably in redevelopment accounting. <br />Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university <br />with major course work in accounting, public administration, business administration, or <br />a related field. <br />License or Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class "C" California <br />driver's license. <br />BADA.ACCOUNTANT <br />2 <br />
