CONSULADO DE MEXICO <br />SISTER CITIES RELATIONSHIP AGREEMENT CELEBRATED BETWEEN <br />THE MUNICIPALITY OF RIO GRANDE, ZACATECAS, UNITED STATES OF <br />MEXICO, AND THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES OF <br />AMERICA. <br />The MUNICIPALITY OF RIO GRANDE, ZACATECAS, UNITED STATES OF <br />MEXICO, and the CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES OF <br />AMERICA, who from here on will be known "party": <br />MOTIVATED by the desire to strengthen the ties of friendship and collaboration <br />between the MUNICIPALITY OF RIO GRANDE, ZACATECAS, UNITED <br />STATES OF MEXICO, and the CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, UNITED <br />STATES OF AMERICA; <br />RECOGNIZNG the existence of areas of collaboration that have been identified <br />as areas of common interest; <br />DECLARING their decision to enhance relations through adequate legal <br />statutes; <br />CONVINCED of the importance to establish mechanisms that contribute to the <br />development and strengthening of this statutes of bilateral cooperation, as well <br />as the necessity to execute programs and actions that will have a positive effect <br />in the economical and social advancement of their cities and countries; <br />Have agreed upon the following: <br />ARTICLE I <br />The present agreement has the objective of formalizing the sister cities <br />relationship of Rio Grande, Zacatecas, and Colton, California, in order to <br />develop a variety of joint programs of cooperation and exchange for the well <br />being of both cities and populations. <br />ARTICLE If <br />Being aware that a Sister Cities Relationship constitutes the bond of <br />cooperation by excellence, both parties agree to develop programs of <br />collaboration and to establish a close relationship that should have as a primary <br />objective the exchange of initiatives and experiences of areas of mutual <br />interest.
