s <br />Mayor Huntoon asked that Staff also check on a grade separation at the location of Valley Boulevard and the <br />Santa Fe Railroad tracks, as suggested by Councilwoman Spragins . <br />City Manager Huffaker stated this is the information and direction that Staff needs from the Council to proceed, <br />and now cost estimates and other pertinent data can be gathered for the forthcoming budget sessions. <br />Ordinance regarding Fuel Posting Requirements. <br />City Attorney Hutton said that in accordance with Council's instructions, he has prepared an ordinance <br />regarding the Fuel Posting Requirements, as adopted by the County and various surrounding cities. <br />Councilman Rehrer-asked if after the fuel shortage is over and things are back to normal, will the Council have <br />to repeal this ordinance. <br />Mr. Hutton said that this ordinance does not contain any requirements or conditions that were not previous <br />being followed, however, since the fuel shortage and crisis occurred, it has become necessary to correct <br />certain situations that have developed due to the crisis. <br />Mr. Hutton said that in preparing this ordinance, he followed the suggested, ordinance adopted by the County, <br />making a few changes and additions of his own, specifically posting of signs in the location of on -coming <br />traffic, size of the signs, limitations on quantity and cost of gasoline. <br />Mr. Hutton stated that he has also made this an "urgency" ordinance, and has stated the ordinance is not <br />only for the protection and convenience of the public, but the service stations as well. <br />Mr. Hutton advised that he had not included the hours of operation in the proposed ordinance, however, <br />this portion is at Council's discretion. <br />Councilman Rehrer advised that the City of Riverside is using the practice of flying a green flag at service <br />stations when there is gasoline available. <br />Councilman Gonzales asked if it is legal for service station to use a minimum amount for the purchase of <br />gasoline, such as a $3 .00 minimum for gas. <br />Mr. Hutton said as far as he knows this would be legal and can be done by the various service stations. <br />Mr. Hutton read the proposed ordinance in ints entirety for the Council members. <br />After additional discussion, Council members felt the ordinance was necessary, however, to remain in effect <br />only six months after adoption. <br />On motion of Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilman Rehrer and unanimously passed, first reading <br />of Ordinance No. 1446 was approved, and further reading waived. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1446 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, RELATING TO <br />THE SALE OF MOTOR VEHICLE FUELS. <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: <br />The City Council adjourned to Executive Session at 8:42 p.m., on the request of Mayor Huntoon. <br />The City Council reconvened at 9:25 p.m. , all members present. <br />Mayor Huntoon stated the Council had adjourned to Executive Session to discuss personnel matters. <br />ADTOURNMENT: <br />There being no further business to come before the Council at this time, on motion of Councilman Rehrer, <br />seconded by Councilman Hayes and unanimously passed, Mayor Huntoon adjourned the meeting at 9:27 p.m. <br />Approved this day of , 1974. <br />Mayor <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />April 2, 1974 <br />y&AJQ. 79e� <br />HELEN A.
