<br />City Attorney Hutton introduced Ordinance No. 1446 for second reading, reading it as to number
<br />and title:
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 1446 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, RELATING TO THE
<br />SALE OF MOTOR VEHICLE FUELS.
<br />On motion of Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes and unanimously passed, second
<br />reading was approved and Ordinance No. 1446 adopted.
<br />Ordinance No. 1448.
<br />City Attorney Hutton introduced Ordinance No. 1448 for first reading,
<br />reading it as to number and title:
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 1448 - AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE "UNIFORM FIRE CODE", 1973 EDITION, PRESCRIBING
<br />REGULATIONS GOVERNING CONDITIONS HAZARDOUS TO LIFE AND PROPERTY FROM FIRE
<br />OR EXPLOSION, AND ESTABLISHING A BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION AND PROVIDING
<br />OFFICERS THEREFOR AND DEFINING THEIR POWERS AND DUTIES.
<br />On motion!of,,Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer and unanimously passed, first read-
<br />ing of Ordinance No. 1448 was approved, and further reading waived.
<br />Ordinance No. 1449.
<br />City Attorney Hutton introduced Ordinance No. 1449 for first reading, reading it as to number
<br />and title:
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 1449 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON ADOPTING THE "UNIFORM BUILDING CODE",
<br />1973 EDITION, VOLUME I, VOLUME II MECHANICAL, VOLUME III HOUSING, VOLUME
<br />IV ABATEMENT OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS, VOLUME V SIGNS, AND APPENDICES THERETO
<br />APPERTAINING.
<br />On motion of Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Rehrer and unanimously passed, first
<br />reading of Ordinance No. 1449 was approved, and further reading waived.
<br />Claim: Monica Cancino vs. City of Colton.
<br />City Attorney Hutton advised the Council mambers that a Complaint for Damages, Personal Injury,
<br />has been filed in the City Clerk's office, March 19, 1974, on behalf of Monica Cancino, who was
<br />injured on June 18, 1973, while a spectator at a baseball game held at Elizabeth Davis Park.
<br />Mr. Hutton stated that no action is necessary, and this item is for informational purposes.
<br />ORAL C OMMUNI CAT IONS :
<br />Mr. Les Walley, 1257 Colton Avenue, Colton, representing the Veterans Coordinating Council, in-
<br />vited members of the City Council to participate in the Memorial Day Ceremonies at Hermosa Cemetery
<br />May 27, 1974, at 9:00 a. m. Mr. Walley stated that everyone is welcome to attend.
<br />Reverend Harold Boeche, Pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, stated that for the fourth year in
<br />a row his parish is conducting Easter Sunrise Services in Fleming Park, and encouraged everyone
<br />to attend this very inspirational service.

<br />The City Council adjourned to Executive Session at 8:14 p. m., on the request of Mayor Huntoon.
<br />The City Council reconvened at 8:20 p. m., all members present.
<br />Recreation and Parks Commission:
<br />On motion of Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes and unanimously passed, Mrs. Ann
<br />Blinkinsop and Mrs. Lidia Cordero were appointed to the Recreation and Parks Commission.
<br />Board of Trustees, Colton Public Library:
<br />On motion of -.Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilwoman Spragins and unanimously passed,
<br />Dr. J. J. H. Smith and Mrs. Hilda Garcia were reappointed to the Board of Trustees of the Library,
<br />and Mr. Gary Bustillos was appointed as Student Member of the High School to serve on the Board.
<br />AmPrica_n Revolution for Colton:
<br />On motion of Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Gonzales and unanimously passed,
<br />Councilman Rehrer was appointed Bicentennial Chairman of the 200th Anniversary of the American
<br />Revolution for Colton.
<br />SCAG Appointments:
<br />On motion of Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes and unanimously passed, Mayor
<br />Huntoon was appointed City Delegate to SCAG, and Councilman -Gonzales was appointed as
<br />Alternate.
