CITY MANAGER REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />San Bernardino Transit S stem Budget Fiscal Year 1974-75, SB -325 Claim. <br />City Manager Huffaker referred to his memorandum dated November 15, 1974, to Council members <br />regarding the 1974-75 Fiscal Year Budget of the San Bernardino Transit System and the City's <br />Article 8 Claim for SB 325 monies. <br />Mr. Huffaker advised that a Minute Order must be approved by the City Council, allocating the <br />funds to the San Bernardino Transit System for extended public transportation service to the <br />City of Colton. <br />Discussion followed regarding future bus service and the increased costs. <br />On motion of Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Rehrer and unanimously passed, <br />Council approved Minute Order to amend the City's Article 8 Claim for SB 325 funds (SLAG) and <br />allocation of funds for public transportation service (SBTS) . <br />Request Bid Award of Fork Lift for Electric Department. <br />Mr. Huffaker advised that three bids were received for the 6,000 lb. Pneumatic Fork Lift for <br />the Electric Department, and Staff recommends awarding the bid to B. B. Lift Company in the <br />amount of $9,546. <br />On motion of Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Gonzales and unanimously passed, <br />Council awarded bid to B. B. Lift Company in the amount of $9,546, for a 6,000 lb. Pneumatic <br />Fork Lift for the Electric Department. <br />Request Bid Award of Line Truck for Electric Department. <br />Mr. Huffaker reported that only one bid was received for the digger/derrick line truck from <br />R. 0. Products of Olathe, Kansas, in the amount of $79,114.16. <br />Mr. Huffaker said this amount is higher than the budgeted amount for the truck, however, the <br />delivery of this equipment would not be until August of next year and the additional amount can <br />be budgeted in the 1975-76 fiscal year. <br />On motion of Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Gonzales and unanimously passed, <br />Council awarded bid to R. 0. Products in the amount of $79,114.16, for the digger/derrick line <br />truck, and approved budgeting $29,000 in the 1975-76 fiscal year budget to supplement amount <br />for purchase of the truck. <br />Request Council Action to dispose of Surplus Vehicles. <br />Mr. Huffaker stated that Staff requests permission to declare certain vehicles as surplus, and <br />to advertise for bids with a minimum bid of $5,000 for each vehicle, which will include a <br />1950 Seagrave Fire Truck, 1952 Reo Brush Truck, and a 1953 GMC 750 gpm Pumper. <br />On motion of Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilman Hayes and unanimously passed, Council <br />approved declaring certain Fire Department vehicles as surplus, and authorized Staff to adver- <br />tise for bids, with a minimum bid of $5,000 for each vehicle. <br />Approval of SANBAG Joint Powers Amendment. <br />Mr. Huffaker reiterated information and discussion previously held on the amendment to the <br />Joint Powers Agreement with SANBAG, which was adopted by the General Assembly on October 30, <br />1974. <br />Discussion followed among Council members and Staff regarding the Joint Powers Agreement and <br />the amendment thereto. <br />On motion of Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilman Hayes and unanimously passed, Council <br />approved the Amendment to the Joint Powers Agreement with SANBAG. <br />CITY ATTORNEY REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Ordinance No. 1471. <br />City Attorney Hutton introduced Ordinance No. 1471 for second reading, reading it as to number <br />and title only: <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1471 <br />- AN ORDINANCE LICENSING THE TRANSACTION AND CARRYING ON OF CERTAIN BUSINESSES, <br />TRADES, PROFESSIONS, CALLINGS AND OCCUPATIONS IN THE CITY OF COLTON FOR THE <br />PURPOSE OF RAISING MUNICIPAL REVENUE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLA- <br />TION THEREOF. <br />Councilman Gonzales again stated his opposition to a maximum tax limit as a part of the business <br />license ordinance, and moved that Ordinance No. 1471 be tabled, and second reading of Ordinance <br />No. 1469 be approved. <br />Councilman Hayes seconded the motion. <br />Mayor Huntoon asked for a Roll Call Vote: <br />N O V 1 S1974 <br />
