CORRESPONDENCE: <br />Memorandum from City Clerk requesting correction to Council Minutes of Regular Meeting held <br />October 15, 1974. <br />City Manager Huffaker referred to a memorandum to the City Council members dated November 15, <br />1974, from the City Clerk, requesting correction of a portion of the Minutes from the Council <br />meeting held October 15, 1974, regarding the presentation as made by Assistant City Attorney <br />Edwards on the letter from the Board of Supervisors requesting Council adopt the new Health <br />Inspection Fee schedule. <br />Mr. Huffaker continued that the City Clerk is requesting the Minutes be amended to include <br />the new health inspection fee schedule as recited by Mr. Edwards. <br />On motion of Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Rehrer and unanimously passed, <br />correction to the Council Minutes of the meeting held October 15, 1974, was approved as <br />requested by the City Clerk. <br />Letter from Chamber of Commerce regarding Christmas in the'Park Program. <br />City Manager Huffaker read a letter from Mrs. Evelyn Rehrer of the Chamber of Commerce re- <br />questing permission for the Colton High School Band Parents Association to have a snack booth <br />at the Christmas in the Park celebration in Fleming Park on December 14, 1974. <br />Mr. Huffaker said the booth will -sell both food and drink and all of the proceeds will go to <br />the Colton High School Band. <br />On motion of Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Gonzales and unanimously passed, <br />Council approved the request for the Colton High School Band Parents Association to operate <br />concession stand at the Christmas in the Park Program in Fleming Park on December 14, 1974. <br />COMMUNITY SERVICES REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Trinity Water Company Agreement. <br />Mr. Earl Young, Community Services Director, gave a presentation on the status of negotiations <br />and a proposed agreement between the Trinity Water Company and the City of Colton for furnish- <br />ing potable water supply to the residents of the Maryknoll area. <br />Mr. Young referred to his memorandum dated November 14, 1974, to the Council members, and the <br />proposed agreement containing seven conditions for acceptance and approval'by the Trinity <br />Water Company and/or Harry V. Roquet et. al. <br />Mr. Young also referred to a letter dated November 18, 1974, from Mr. Harry V. Roquet, <br />President of the Trinity Water Company, indicating alternatives to the proposal, and the <br />fact that they disapprove of the proposed agreement as stated by the City. <br />After discussion by Council members and Staff, Councilman Rehrer stated that he has a counter- <br />proposal to this matter, and he would therefore move that the negotiations and proposed <br />agreement between the Trinity Water Company and/or Harry V. Roquet, et, al., and the City of <br />Colton be tabled until the next regular Council meeting for further study and review. <br />Motion seconded by Councilwoman Spragins and passed, Councilman Gonzales voting NO. <br />Mr. Arcadio Canino, resident of the Maryknoll area, urged the City Council to resolve this <br />matter as soon as possible due to the many problems this situation is creating for the <br />residents of the Maryknoll area. <br />Sludge removal at the Water Quality Control Plant. <br />Mr. Earl Young referred to his memorandum dated November 15, 1974, to the Council members, <br />requesting permission to prepare and enter into an agreement with the Alart Company of Ontario <br />for removal of sludge beds at the Water Quality Control Plant. <br />On motion of Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes and unanimously passed, Council <br />approved Staff's request to prepare an agreement with the Alart Company of Ontario for Sludge <br />Removal. <br />Removal of No Parking Signs. <br />Mr. Earl Young advised that a request has been received for removal of "No Parking" signs <br />along the west side of Mt. Vernon Avenue, between Citrus and Johnston Streets. <br />Mr. Young stated there is no problem with this request and it can be handled by approval of <br />Resolution No. 3476. <br />On motion of Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Gonzales and unanimously passed, <br />Resolution No. 3476 was approved: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3476 - RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2119 PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON ON THE SIXTH DAY OF DECEMBER, 1960, TO <br />INCLUDE NO PARKING AREAS. <br />N Ov 191974 <br />
