<br />COUNCIL MEETING
<br />October 1, 1974
<br />A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date
<br />at 7:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Pro Tem Rehrer presiding.
<br />Mayor Pro Tem Rehrer led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
<br />Invocation was offered by the Reverend Edward Bedrosian, Associate Pastor of the First South-
<br />ern Baptist Church of Colton.
<br />ROLL CALL:
<br />Council members present were Hayes, Spragins, Rehrer, and Gonzales. Also present were City
<br />Manager Huffaker, City Attorney Hutton, and City Clerk Ramos. Absent was Mayor Huntoon.
<br />CONSENT CALENDAR:
<br />On motion of Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Gonzales and passed, the Consent Calen-
<br />dar was approved as follows:
<br />1. Approval of Minutes - Regular Meeting held September 17, 1974, as on file in the
<br />Office of the City Clerk.
<br />2. Approval of Warrants - Nos. 00001 through 00118 and Nos. 10062 through 10100, and
<br />Nos. 14452 through 14714 (September 27) inclusive, as recommended by the Director
<br />of Fi nanpP _
<br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS:
<br />Mayor Pro Tem Rehrer read a Proclamation honoring the Y.M.C.A. Y -Indian Guides Week, from
<br />October 6 through 12, 1974.
<br />Mayor Pro Tem Rehrer stated an appointment to the Recreation and Parks Commission, to fill
<br />the unexpired term of Mrs. Barbara Martin, will be made when all members of the Council are
<br />present.
<br />CORRESPONDENCE:
<br />Letters from Trinity Water Company and the Department of Health
<br />City Manager Huffaker advised that two letters have been received on this day, the one from
<br />Trinity Water Company at 9:00 a.m., and the other from the Department of Health at 4:30 p.m.,
<br />regarding a water problem in the southerly portion of the City of Colton, west of La Cadena
<br />Drive, in the Maryknoll area.
<br />City Manager Huffaker read a letter dated September 30, 1974, from the Trinity Water Company
<br />signed by Harry V. Roquet, attached hereto and made a part hereof as Page 3. (Minute Book Page 101A)
<br />City Manager Huffaker read a letter dated October 1, 1974, from the Department of Health

<br />C. E. Anderson, District Engineer, attached hereto and made a part hereof as Page 4.

<br />City Manager Huffaker said in view of these two letters received, specifically that received
<br />from the Department of Health, Staff would recommend taking no action this evening and
<br />referring this matter back to Staff for further study and review, and report back to the
<br />Council.
<br />On motion of Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Hayes and passed, letters from
<br />Trinity Water Company and the Department of Health regarding a water problem in the Maryknoll
<br />area were referred to Staff for additional study and report.
<br />Letter from First Southern Baptist Church.
<br />City Manager Huffaker referred to a letter from Associate Paster Edward Bedrosian of the First
<br />Southern Baptist Church of Colton, requesting use of Fleming Park on Saturday evening, October
<br />1210 1974, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m., for a youth rally.
<br />On motion of Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Gonzales and passed, Council approved
<br />the request of the First Southern Baptist Church for use of Fleming Park, October 12, 1974,
<br />from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m., for a youth rally.
<br />Letter from Mr. Daniel Morales re,�zardinR res imation from the Planning Commission.
<br />City Manager Huffaker read in full a letter from Mr. Daniel Morales advising of his res igna-_
<br />tion from the City Planning Commission, effective September 30, 1974.
<br />On motion of Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Spragins and passed, Council accepted
<br />the letter of resignation from Daniel Morales from the Planning Commission, and requested the
<br />City Clerk to write Mr. Morales a letter of commendation for his years of service.
<br />Designation of Voting Representative and Alternate Voting Representative for the Annual
<br />League Conference.
<br />City Manager Huffaker stated this item concerns a request from the League of California Cities
