<br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
<br />Ordinance No. 1487
<br />City Attorney Edwards introduced Ordinance No. 1487 for second reading, reading it as to number and title
<br />only:
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 1487 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 9645
<br />Second Reading AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN ZONE RECLASSIFICATIONS.
<br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Spragins, to approve second
<br />reading and adopt Ordinance No. 1487. Vote was unanimous.
<br />Resolution No. 3553.
<br />City Attorney Edwards stated that Resolution No. 3553 pertains to the forthcoming General Municipal Election
<br />to be held in the City of Colton. Mr. Edwards read the resolution in its entirety.
<br />Moved by Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Gonzales, to approve Resolution No. 3553. Vote was
<br />unanimous.
<br />RESOLUTION NO. 3553 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON RE-
<br />QUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN
<br />BERNARDINO TO PERMIT THE REGISTRAR OF VOTERS OF SAID
<br />COUNTY TO RENDER SPECIFIED SERVICES TO THE CITY OF COLTON,
<br />RELATING TO THE CONDUCT OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
<br />TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON MARCH 2, 1976.
<br />Resolution No. 3554.
<br />City Attorney Edwards stated that Resolution No. 3554 also pertains to the coming General Municipal Election
<br />in Colton, and he read the resolution in full.
<br />RESOLUTION NO. 3554 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON,
<br />CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF
<br />A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON
<br />TUESDAY, THE 2ND DAY OF MARCH, 19765 FOR THE ELECTION
<br />OF CERTAIN OFFICERS OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PRO-
<br />VISIONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING
<br />TO GENERAL LAW CITIES.
<br />Moved by Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve Resolution No. 3554. Vote was unani-
<br />mous.

<br />Chon Ik Ahn vs. City of Colton
<br />Southern California Edison Company vs. City of Colton
<br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, the Claims of Chon Ik Ahn versus the City of Colton,
<br />and Southern California Edison Company versus the City of Colton were denied and referred to the City's in-
<br />surance carrier. Vote was unanimous.
<br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS:
<br />The following people addressed the City Council regarding the decision on the Municipal Park Building site for
<br />the MultiService Center:
<br />Camilla Herrera, 248 East N Street, Colton; Salvador A. Rios, 999 Cypress Avenue, Colton; Marina Viduari, 1150
<br />Grand Avenue, Colton; Bea Hernandez, 258 East N Street, Colton.
<br />Each opponent expressed their disappointment with the Council's decision and the continued mis-use of Federal
<br />funds by the City. Statements were made with regard to contacting HUD on this matter and a possible Grand
<br />Jury investigation. The opponents felt that South Colton had been neglected long enough, and that it was
<br />about time the Council did something for that area of the town.
<br />Mr. Richard Mosher, Chairman of the Recreation and Parks Commission, also addressed the Council on issues
<br />pertaining to the Commission, and asked that the Mayor and City Manager attend the next Recreation and Parks
<br />Commission meeting, which will be held December 17, 1975.
<br />Mayor Huntoon stated that he would attend the meeting.
<br />Mayor Huntoon said that at one time the Recreation and Parks Commission had been placed on the Council Agenda
<br />for their reports and recommendations, however, some where along the line this had been discontinued. Mayor
<br />Huntoon stated that he would like to have this placed on the Council Agenda once again, and asked that the
<br />City Manager and City Clerk take care of this. Mayor Huntoon also stated he felt that the Recreation Director,
<br />Max Lofy, should act as liaison between the Commission and Council, and that Mr. Lofy should be attending the
<br />Council meetings.
<br />Moved by Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilman Hayes, that the Recreation Director, Max Lofy, and the
<br />Chairman of the Recreation and Parks Commission, Richard Mosher, be included in future projects and plans
<br />carried on by the Community Projects Committee. Vote was unanimous.
<br />EXECUTIVE SESSION:
<br />The City Council adjourned to Executive Session at 8:50 p. m., and reconvened at 9:19 p. m., all members
<br />present.
<br />Planning Commission
<br />Moved by Mayor Huntoon, seconded by Councilman Hayes, Council appointed Mr. Rolin Grider to the Planning
<br />Commission for a four year term. Unanimous vote.
<br />ADJOURNMENT:
<br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Spragins, Mayor Huntoon adjourned the meeting at 9:20 p. m.
