Governmental Agencies: <br />San Bernardino County Flood Control District <br />137 <br />City Manager reported San Bernardino County Flood Control is purchasing a parcel of land with- <br />in and adjacent to the take line of the Santa Ana River and purchase is consistent with the <br />program of the flood control ownership of land for eventual channelization of the river. <br />Moved by Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to concur in purchase of Tax <br />Deeded Parcel by the San Bernardino County Flood Control District in the amount of $161.60 <br />and to authorize the Mayor to sign Agreement pursuant to Section 3775 of the Revenue and <br />Taxation Code. Vote was unanimous. <br />Community Development Act <br />City Manager Huffaker reported on the latest information regarding the Community Development <br />Act from his memorandum dated January 3, 1975. <br />Council discussed advisability of paying the $18,000 Consultant fee for preparation of the <br />application and plan, and the possibility of doing the necessary work inhouse. <br />Staff reported the heavy workload due to State mandated elements and their recommendation to <br />retain Mr. Haworth. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Spragins, not to enter into an agreement <br />to contract with Consultant, upon Roll Call, the Vote was: <br />Ayes: Two, Rehrer, Spragins <br />Nays: Three, Gonzales, Hayes, Huntoon <br />Absent: None <br />Motion declared not carried. <br />Council discussion followed for clarification of maximum consultant's fee of $18,000, and <br />services to be rendered for fees paid. <br />Agreements: <br />Haworth, Anderson & Lafer <br />Moved by Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to authorize Mayor to execute Agree- <br />ment by and between the City and Mr. Ed Haworth, of Haworth, Anderson and Lafer. Upon Roll <br />Call, the Vote was: <br />Ayes: Three, Gonzales, Hayes, Huntoon <br />Nays: Two, Rehrer, Spragins <br />Absent: None <br />Motion declared carried. <br />Insurance: . <br />Liability - Firemens Fund <br />City Manager Huffaker reported three recommendations from his memorandum of January 3, 1975. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to authorize the Director of Finance <br />to pay up to $19,500 for General Liability Coverage from January 2, to June 30, 1975, (Broker <br />of Record, Strachota Insurance Agency) with Firemens Fund and to direct Staff where possible, <br />to have all insurance policies short termed to June 30, and renew annually thereafter, coin- <br />ciding with the City's fiscal year. Vote was unanimous. <br />Agreements: <br />Transportation - S.B.T.S. <br />City Manager Huffaker reported from his memorandum dated January 6, 1975. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Gonzales, to approve contract with San <br />Bernardino Transit System and authorize Mayor to execute same.
