<br />June 17, 1975
<br />A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 7:30 p. m., in the
<br />Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Huntoon presiding..
<br />Mayor Huntoon led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
<br />Invocation was offered by Reverend Robert K. Johnson of the Colton Community Church.
<br />ROLL CALL:
<br />Council members present were Hayes, Spragins, Rehrer, Gonzales, and Mayor Huntoon. Also present were City Manager
<br />Huffaker, City Attorney Hutton, and City Clerk Ramos.

<br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve the Consent Calendar. Unanimous vote.
<br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS:
<br />Proclamation
<br />Mayor Huntoon read a Proclamation honoring Independence Day, July 4, 1975.
<br />Boards & Commissions
<br />Cemetery Commission
<br />Mayor Huntoon stated that appointments to the Cemetery Commission will be made during Executive Session later in the
<br />meeting.
<br />Chamber of Commerce
<br />Mr. Bill McGuern, immediate past -president of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, spoke to the City Council
<br />expressing his gratitude and appreciation to each Council member, City Manager, and Department Heads, for their
<br />cooperation and assistance during the year with Chamber functions and business.
<br />PUBLIC HEARINGS:
<br />Planning Commission Resolution No. 772 (Leonard H. Brown
<br />City Manager Huffaker referred to a memorandum from the City Clerk requesting that the public hearing on Planning
<br />Commission Resolution No. 772, zone change application of Leonard H. Brown, be rescheduled for July 1, 1975.
<br />Moved by Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Hayes, Council set for public hearing Planning Commission
<br />Resolution No. 772 (Leonard H. Brown) on July 1, 1975.
<br />CORRESPONDENCE:
<br />Parades
<br />Associacion Mexicana Trabajadores Unidos
<br />City Manager Huffaker read a letter dated June 16, 1975, from the Asociacion Mexicans Trabajadores Unidos, requesting
<br />permits for dances to be held at the Patio Supremo, beginning on June 28, 1975, every Saturday night and Sunday after-
<br />noon thereafter, up to September 14, 1975, and for a parade to be held September 14, 1975, along La Cadena Drive to
<br />terminate at the Patio Supremo, for the 1975 Fiestas Patrias.
<br />Discussion was held regarding the upgrading of the facilities for these fiestas, and Staff pointed out that the rest
<br />rooms were the only item that still needed upgrading, however, this is being worked on. 11
<br />Mr. Guadalupe Muratalla, President of the Associacion Mexicana Trabajadores Unidos, 645 South 7th Street, Colton,
<br />a6ked for the Council's consideration and approval of their request, and stated they are working very hard to complete
<br />all requirements and comply with all City codes.
<br />Moved by Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilman Hayes, Council approved the request of the Associacion Mexicana
<br />Trabajadores Unidos as presented, to be coordinated with and approved by the Building Inspection Director, John
<br />Twiss. Unanimous vote.
<br />City Clerk
<br />City Manager Huffaker referred to a memorandum from the City Clerk, dated June 12, 1975, requesting that the Council
<br />approve and adopt the Council Meetings Manual of Procedure, as prepared and submitted by the City Clerk.
<br />City Attorney Hutton suggested that the Council adopt the Manual by resolution.
<br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, Council approved Resolution No. 3527. Unanimous vote.
<br />RESOLUTION NO. 3527 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON ADOPTING THE COUNCIL MEETINGS MANUAL OF
<br />PROCEDURE.
<br />Appeals
<br />Gerald J. DeJong
<br />City Manager Huffaker referred to a letter from Mr. Gerald J. DeJong, appealing the decision of Planning Commission
<br />Resolution No. 773, and his request for a zone change. Mr. Huffaker said that Staff recommends this item be set for
<br />public hearing on July 1, 1975.
<br />Moved by Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Hayes, Council set for public hearing, July 1, 1975, the
<br />Appeal of Gerald J. and Marjorie K. DeJong. Vote was unanimous.
