City Manager Huffaker read his memorandum dated February 28, 1975, and referred to memorandums from the Building
<br />and Safety Director John Twiss, dated February 20, 1975, and Director of Community Services Earl Young, dated
<br />February 25, 1975, regarding demolition of the building located in the rear of the Little Theatre building in Municipal
<br />Park.
<br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve demolition of the building in Municipal
<br />Park as recommended by Staff.
<br />Programs/Police:
<br />"Quickdraw " Project
<br />Mr. Huffaker referred to a memorandum from the Police Chief Phil Elliott, dated February 20, 1975, regarding renewal
<br />of the "Quickdraw" Project by the County, and the request that the Mayor submit a letter to the County Board of
<br />Supervisors supporting the project in the coming budget year.
<br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Gonzales and passed, Council authorized the Mayor to write
<br />a letter to the County Board of Supervisors supporting the "Quickdraw" Project for the coming year.
<br />Civic Center•
<br />The Latinos
<br />Mr. Huffaker read a letter from Mr. Eddie Velasquez, Manager of The Latinos, requesting use of the Colton Civic
<br />Center for four days, March 19 through 22, 19 75 , for an Evangelistic group crusade.
<br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer and passed, Council referred this matter back to Staff
<br />for review and the necessary action.
<br />CITY ATTORNEY REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:

<br />Joseph D. Sainte -Claire, Jr, vs. City of Colton
<br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Gonzales and passed, the Claim of Joseph D. Sainte -Claire,
<br />Jr. , versus the City of Colton was referred to the insurance carrier as recommended by Staff.
<br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS:

<br />Gary Leibelt
<br />Mr. Gary Leibelt, representing the Colton junior High School Ecology Club, requested permission from the City
<br />Council to paint street numbers on the curbing throughout the City, and to waive the $ 5.00 fee required. Mr.
<br />Leibelt said the monies would be used to help support the Club .
<br />After discussion between Council members and Staff, Council consensus was to refer this matter to Staff for proper
<br />hand ling .

<br />A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 7:30 p.m. , in the
<br />Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Huntoon presiding.
<br />Mayor Huntoon led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
<br />Invocation was offered by the Reverend W. J. Coleburn of the Assembly of God Church.
