33.1 <br />Discussion followed with regard to transition into the program, the effect of job classifications, specifically <br />transferring a Motor Sweeper Operator to an Equipment Operator position. <br />Councilman Rehrer moved to initiate Staff's recommendation for once every other week street sweeping on a six <br />month experimental basis, without change in position classification. <br />Motion failed for lack of a second. <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: <br />Personnel <br />Council adjourned to Executive Session at 8:15 P. m. Council reconvened at 8:30 p. m., all members present. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to implement a once every two weeks street sweeping <br />operation on a six month trial basis. Unanimous vote. <br />REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY: <br />Project II <br />Redevelopment Agency Executive Director, George Williams, reported to the City Council that he has been negotiating <br />with Colton Limited in regard to the ten (10) foot strip of land in Project II that is adjacent to the Post <br />Office. Mr. Williams stated he has received an indication on a price of $2,000; and in the past, the City <br />Council had agreed to lend the Redevelopment Agency $1,000 for the purchase of this land. At this time, Mr. <br />Williams said an additional $1,000 is needed, or a total sum of $2,000. Mr. Williams said 260 feet of the 398 <br />feet will be sold to McDonald's, who are in the process of construction. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Gonzales, to loan the Redevelopment Agency a total sum of <br />$2,000 for the purchase of a ten (10) foot strip of land in Project II, adjacent to the Post Office. Unanimous <br />vote. <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: <br />Meet and Confer <br />The City Council adjourned to Executive Session to discuss Meet and Confer matters at 8:34 p. m. Council <br />reconvened at 9:45 p. m., all members present. <br />BUDGET: <br />Preliminary <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Gonzales, to adopt the Preliminary Budget as reviewed and <br />amended. Motion carried. Councilman Rehrer voting NO. <br />Councilman Gonzales expressed his appreciation to the Staff for the job they did in holding the line on the <br />budget and for $800,000 that was cut prior to Council receiving the budget. Councilman Gonzales stated it was <br />with regret that the utilities were increased, however, this will insure continued high caliber of service. <br />AD,1011RNMFNT <br />There being no further business to come before the City Council at this time, on motion of Councilwoman Cisneros, <br />seconded by Councilman Gonzales, and unanimously passed, Mayor Beltran adjourned the meeting at 9:50 p. m., to <br />meet for an Adjourned Regular Meeting at 7:30 p. m., on Tuesday, July 13, 1976, in the Council Chambers. <br />Q• <br />HELEN A. Also present were City Manager <br />Huffaker, City Attorney Edwards, and City Clerk Ramos. <br />PARKS: <br />Municipal <br />City Manager Huffaker reported to the City Council that a request to use Municipal Park for a rummage sale had been <br />received from Miss Stella S. Ramirez, who is a Queen Candidate for the September Fiestas. <br />Discussion followed regarding fund raising activities being held on City property and whether a precedent might be <br />set if permission were granted on an individual basis, other than a non-profit organization. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Gonzales, to deny the request of Miss Stella S.
